Collections Projects

Rehousing Projects

I have worked on a variety of archaeological and ethnographic rehousing projects. I enjoy the challenge and problem solving situations that are common in rehousing projects, as well as, working with others on a team.

Mountmaking

I have designed and executed a variety of different mounts. I enjoy the creative and hands-on expects of working with tools and archival materials to make customized mounts for storage and exhibit.

Digitization and Imaging

I have experience digitizing 3D ethnographic objects and various archaeology material. I have also designed and integrated object imaging into collections projects.

Environmental Monitoring and IPM

I have been responsible for Environmental Monitoring and IPM at the University of Colorado Museum of Natural History and the University of Wisconsin Department of Anthropology. Although I am not a fan of creepy, crawly bugs, I have learned the importance of monitoring pests and environmental changes within collections storage.

Database

Over the past few years, I have worked with excel based databases, PastPerfect, Argus, and RE:discovery. Projects vary from data entry to lexicon development. I feel databases are essential to maintaining intellectual control over collections, and if brought online, databases are a great opportunity to showcase collections to the public.
